The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads, implemented this week a training program on “Building and Programming Robots (Fischer Technik and Matatalab).” The five-days training program took place at the Wyndham Garden Hotel Muscat.
The training program targeted a number of (26) trainees from the Departments of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad in the governorates. It aimed to introduce the participants to the STEM program of the German company Fischer Technik and acquaint them with the components of the robot bags, in addition to training the participants on programming and assembling robots. The training program also contributes to refining the talents of the trainees from through a variety of projects and contributes to raising the scientific competence of the trainees through exposure to the latest scientific practices.
The training program included discussion of several topics, the most important of which was introducing the components of each bag and its working mechanism, the target group of students, the nature of the projects being implemented, and their international competitions.
Amna Al-Saadi, Innovation and Olympian Senior Specialist at Al-Buraimi Governorate, said: “The educational kits simplified scientific concepts and took them from stagnation to application, which would add fun to education and increase the passion for learning among students.”
Abdullah Al Abri, Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Senior Specialist at South Al Batinah Governorate, said: “The training program is largely based on the practical aspect of installing some models and projects related to the STEM concept, as the participants learned about various portfolios in this aspect.”
