Ministry of Education holds the First Educational Meeting for Student Affairs for Private Schools for the Academic Year 2023/2024

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision – School Administration Supervision Department – is implementing the first educational meeting for student affairs for private schools for the academic year 2023/2024. The meeting was inaugurated under the patronage of Dr. Mutasim bin Rashid Al Balushi, Assistant Director-General for Educational Supervision, and in the presence of department directors and those concerned with student affairs in the Ministry General Diwan and the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate. The meeting took place at the Dohat Al Adab School Theater in Muscat Governorate.

The ceremony began with a speech from the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision presented by Dr. Mutasim Al Balushi, in which he emphasized the roles that must be played by private school administrations in terms of innovation, change and development, and setting a clear vision and goals for improving school performance. He also stressed the importance of enhancing effective communication between Administration and teachers and their participation in decision-making to raise work productivity and quality of performance. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations governing work, especially with regard to student affairs, such as monitoring the regularity and discipline of students and studying their cases.

Over the course of two consecutive days, the meeting targets more than (320) of those concerned with student affairs in private schools in Muscat Governorate, with the aim of arousing their awareness of school regulations and laws, introducing the controls for accepting and registering students, and learning about the challenges and difficulties facing private schools with regard to student regularity.

The meeting includes discussion of four papers, which are: developments in admission and registration in private schools, presented by Talal Al-Mandhari from the Directorate-General of Private Schools. The second paper was about organizing students in private schools, which was presented by Muhammad Al-Saadi and Laila Al Wahshi from the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, while the third

paper discussed "Equivalence of Academic Certificates from the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation" presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghassini from the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Khamis Al-Shukaili from the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuous Learning presented the fourth paper on "Special Cases and Mechanisms for Dealing With Them".
