The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development (Department of Applied Science Curricula Development), in cooperation with Asas Al-Maarifa Company for Supplying Educational and Laboratory Solutions, implemented this morning (Monday) the training program on the use of electronic sensors in practical experiments. The program targeted (25) supervisors and science laboratory technicians and took place at the Meeting Room at Misk Hotel in Al Mouj Muscat.
On the importance and objectives of this program, Badr Al-Hassani, Assistant Director of the Department of Applied Science Curricula Development for Science Laboratories at the Ministry, said: “The implementation of this training program comes as a result of the expansion of the application of electronic sensors (Data Harvest); bringing the number to (40) schools in (4) governorates, namely: Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah. The application of these electronic sensors began in the academic year 2019/2020 in (20) schools, and this application is expanded this academic year 2023/2024 in (20) schools more in the same governorates. The Ministry seeks through this program to raise the efficiency of the cadres working in science laboratories, and to empower them with scientific and practical knowledge in using the latest laboratory equipment, in accordance with the Ministry’s vision to activate the role of science laboratories to achieve future skills for school learners.”
“This program aims to deliver the latest developments in the field of sensors and their applications in line with the Cambridge curricula and provide training and practical application on the use and activation of electronic sensors in practical experiments for science curricula, in addition to providing practical explanations on the use of the operating program for electronic sensors,” he added.
