The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Administrative Affairs – Training and Rehabilitation Department – is implementing this week (11 -15 of June) two training programs within the professional development plan for the year 2023.

The first training program titled “Digital Transformation in Secretarial Work and Office Management” takes place at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Al Seeb, and targets (30) trainees from the coordination and follow-up staff in the offices of directors-general of the directorates-general in the Ministry’s general diwan and in the educational directorates in the governorates. The program aims at providing the participants with scientific knowledge and skills in the concept of electronic administration and digital transformation, and practical applications in digital preservation and archiving. It also aims at enabling participants to set steps for digital transformation in their field of work applying the use of "Microsoft" and "Google drive" programs in electronic management, in addition to learning about digital scanning techniques for documents, network and cloud sharing, and the use of some artificial intelligence (AI) software to accomplish work efficiently and effectively.

The second program titled “Strategic Foresight for the Future" took place at the Avani Muscat Hotel and continued for three days. The program targeted 33 trainees who hold the position of department director in the Ministry’s General Diwan and the educational directorates in the governorates. The program includes presenting several topics, namely the elements of inspiring adaptive leadership, the basics of foresight, its methods and uses. It aims to enable participants to possess inspirational leadership skills and foresee the future, make strategic decisions in an innovative way. It also introduces them to the vital elements that characterize adaptive leadership, in addition to the types of the future and understanding the relationship between foresight and planning, the difference between intuitive foresight and analytical foresight, applying different types of foresight approaches and recognizing their multiple uses.
