Under the auspices of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, the Ministry of Education launched yesterday (Monday) morning the “Interactive Educational Statistics Platform”, in the presence of HE Majid bin Said Al-Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and a number of Directors-General of the Directorates-General of the Ministry’s General Diwan, and the Educational Directorates-General in the governorates. The launching ceremony took place at the Oman Hall in the Ministry’s General Diwan.
HE the Minister of Education confirmed that: “The launching of the Interactive Educational Statistics Platform of the Ministry of Education comes after the urgent need to provide a database and unify it on the various fields as the real wealth in the current time is data, and this platform is part of a larger project which is the digital transformation. This platform also enables access to integration in educational indicators.”
The launch ceremony included a visual presentation on the interactive educational statistics platform of the Ministry of Education, presented by Rahma Al Mahrouqi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Indicators. In the presentation, she provided an introductory overview of the platform, in which she explained that the platform aims to keep pace with the requirements of Oman Vision 2040 and digital transformation, and display educational statistics in an interactive manner, as the platform allows the user to access comprehensive educational data on government schools, teachers, students, and other educational data and information in the Sultanate of Oman. This data was prepared through the (Power BI) program, which is one of the programs that deal with databases of different sources in a simultaneous and real-time manner.
Through the tools provided by the program, the data is analyzed and displayed in different graphics and formats, which enables the user of the platform to search for educational statistical information updated daily through a few clicks through which the user navigates between screens and interactive oases. The user can also navigate and search for educational information and data geographically and
spatially, this is due to the displaying spatial data in the platform. Through these multiple features, graphical interfaces, and easy-to-use screens, the platform enables decision makers, administrators, and teachers to make a positive change in the education sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
