The final exams of the second semester for students of the General Diploma of General Education and their equivalents for the academic year 2022-2023 begin today (Sunday). The total number of students taking the exams is (57034) students in the various governorates.

The number of examination centers is (361) distributed in the governorates according to the student density of each governorate. Correction work is organized in (4) four centers in two (morning and evening) shifts. A number of (6,400) correctors were provided, and about (6,500) observers were assigned, in addition to role observers and members of the examination center administration, and (800) correctors were nominated to carry out the work of correcting general education diploma materials and its level in each correction center for each correction period, as well as more than (6000) teachers to supervise the examinees in the examination centers.

The Ministry of Education has formed committees to follow up on all examination work, including the preparation committee as the first of the general education diploma examination committees. The committee is formed at the level of the governorates represented by the departments of educational measurement and evaluation, and at the level of the ministry, represented by the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and its main task is to prepare for educational evaluation work for the academic year. The Examination Management Committee in the governorates is another committee with its task to carry out the tasks of managing general education diploma exams and their equivalent in the governorate and supervising students’ performance during the exams. Other committees are the Correction committees at the level of the ministry and correction centers in the governorates and their tasks are to manage the work of correcting examination booklets for general education diploma materials and its equivalent. The correction process, according to the initial approved time plan for correction, will begin tomorrow, Monday, 05 June, and will end on Sunday, 2 July.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that the mechanisms used to prepare general education diploma students and their exams were represented in the educational directorates in the governorates providing the examination centers with an atmosphere that contributes to helping the examinee to submit the exam in comfort and calmness. It also advised all students to prepare for exams through optimal use of time in the study and revision process and to focus while performing exams. Students are also advised to be present early at the examination center to avoid any lateness in entering the examination hall. They also should bring their own tools that are allowed in the examination hall and their ID documents, and check if the information on the examination booklet is correct. All students must adhere to the controls and instructions inside the center, and not bring any prohibited items into the examination center.

Regarding the punishment on any violations while performing the exams, the Ministry affirmed that the ministerial decisions regulating the work of the exams will be implemented which include all the controls, instructions and procedures that must be followed in the management and implementation of the exams, as well as the types of violations and their penalties, whether for the examinees or those in charge of the exams work in case of non-compliance with the controls. Article (37) of the Ministerial Resolution (588/2015) will be applied in case of any applied regarding examinees violating the controls of exam administration in various violation cases, where the penalties range according to the type of case. Some cases of violation may lead to the cancellation of the exam, and the cancellation of the results in all academic subjects if the violation is repeated. In some cases, violations may lead to cancellation of enrollment or registration and denial of registration for the following academic year.
