Education and Documents Authority follow up on the Public Document Management System Implementation

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the National Documents and Archives Authority, carried out a field visit to all administrative divisions in the Ministry’s general diwan as a first stage of follow up on the implementation of the Public Documents Management System, and to review the application of the system in both its electronic and paper forms.

This visit comes as a result of the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Education – represented by the department of Documents, the National Documents and Archives Authority – represented by the Department of Follow-up and Technical Support Department, in order to provide technical support on the mechanism of implementing the public documents management system in the divisions of the Ministry’s General Diwan.

Hafiz Al-Mamari, a documentation and Archives Specialist at the National Documents and Archives Authority, said: “This visit comes within the framework of the annual plan carried out by the Department of Follow-up and Technical Support for this year, as these field visits target all units of the administrative apparatus of the state that are subject to the Documents and Archives Law. In coordination between the National Documents and Archives Authority and the Ministry of Education, this visit came to follow up the document and archives management system in the Ministry’s general diwan as a first stage. It also serves the field of documents to improve, develop, and highlight what is new in the field of documents.”

Zayed Al-Felaiti, Director of the Department of Documentation at the Ministry of Education, said: “The next stage will be a visit to the educational governorates to stand on what they have achieved in implementing the document management system, overcome the difficulties facing these divisions, and to provide all technical support needed. The Ministry is currently implementing the document management system in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 190/2022 regarding the introduction of a classification system, and schedules of retention periods for public documents in the Ministry.”
