The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision "Department of Supervision of Applied Sciences", organized yesterday morning, "Monday", the Procedural Research Forum for Supervision of Applied Sciences as an effective tool in improving educational practices. The forum targeted "100" participants from the senior supervisors, educators and teachers at the Ministry's General Diwan and the general directorates in the governorate and was held through the Microsoft Teams platform.
Dr. Khadija Al-Belushi, Director of the Applied Sciences Supervision Department, delivered a speech in which she said: “Procedural research is a scientific, systematic supervisory method for improving educational performance and solving educational problems by practitioners in the educational field. Among these practitioners, it is based on reflection on educational practices and identification of problems faced, and then implementing procedures to solve these problems in a scientific way, followed by follow-up and evaluation of the impact of implementing these procedures.”
After that, Dr. Nasser Al Mazeedi, Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Teaching, Department of Education and Human Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Nizwa, delivered a paper entitled "Procedural Research between Reality and Hope" followed by Dr. Said Al-Manouri, a trainer at the Specialized Institute for Vocational Training for Teachers, who presented a paper entitled “Efforts of the Specialized Institute for Vocational Training for Teachers in Promoting the Culture of Procedural Research in the Schools of the Sultanate of Oman.” Dr. Maryam Al Belushi, Senior Arabic Language Supervisor in the Humanities Supervision Department, Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, presented the third paper which was titled "The Role of the Educational Supervisor and Senior Teacher in the Practice of Procedural Research", Amira Al Saadi, a second field teacher at Tamader Bint Omar School in
Musandam Governorate, presented the fourth paper entitled "The Impact of the Application of Electronic Activities in Distance Education on the Academic Achievement of Second Grade Students in Mathematics, at Tamader Bint Omar School in Musandam Governorate", and Talib Al Afari, Senior Supervisor of Mathematics in South Al Batinah Governorate delivered the fifth and final paper entitled "The Impact of Professional Learning Communities in Developing the Oral and Written Feedback Skill in the Supervisory Deliberation of Some Supervisors in South Al Batinah Education (2021-2022)".
The forum aims at the professional and scientific development of those targeted in the field of preparing and applying procedural research, developing the capabilities of supervisors in solving educational problems in the educational field, unleashing the creative capabilities of supervisory groups in the preparation of procedural research. It also aims at instilling the method of procedural research in supervisory practices, developing procedural research skills among Supervisors of applied science subjects.
