This participation of our students is of high benefit from a psychological standpoint represented in their ability to compete with others and it has a social standpoint as well, represented in meeting their peers in the Gulf countries and exchanging experiences. The Ministry aspires to benefit from this experience by developing it and developing the participation of our students in times coming, wishing them more success in their near future.”
It is noteworthy that the Gulf Olympiad is a periodic competition in the subjects of mathematics and chemistry for students of the member states of the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States, organized and supervised by the Bureau and hosted by one of the member states. This year, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, from 10-14 March, and ten students from the member states of the Bureau have participated in it, (6) of them in mathematics competitions, and (4) in chemistry competitions.
The importance of the competition is represented in creating the appropriate environment to raise the scientific competitiveness between the students of the countries of the Bureau, in a way that contributes to the qualification of the participating students of the member states in the International Olympiads in Mathematics and Chemistry. The competition also aims to raise the scientific level of students in the two subjects, through the intellectual challenge in dealing with chemical problems and realistic mathematical issues, in a way that enhances the learning and teaching of mathematics and chemistry in general, and prepares talented students in particular for regional and international Olympiads.
