Education holds Introductory Session on Data and Information Classification Document

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Private Schools – Department of Early Education – in cooperation with the Department of Electronic Information Security, held an introductory session on the data and information classification document. The session was held on Tuesday, targeted the directorate's employees, and took place in the Khasab hall in the Ministry's General Diwan.

The session aims to introduce the data and information classification document, and to spread the culture of electronic security among employees in accordance with the regulating laws and regulations. Ahmed Al-Ghatarifi, Assistant Director of the Department of Electronic Information Security, presented the session which included a presentation introducing the references for classification of data and information, clarifying the process of inventorying the data and information assets of the Ministry, organizing, arranging and sorting them, and determining the appropriate level and security classification for them; with the aim of protecting them and choosing appropriate protection controls for each of those assets, all of which is represented by the concept of classification of data and information.

The session also emphasized the objectives of the classification process and the risks involved in case the data and information are dealt with without a security classification, the basic levels of the data and information classification process and the correct procedures that m

ust be taken into account when working on data and information classification, reviewing the work mechanism on the data and information classification model, and the data and information classification risk analysis model.
