Ministry of Education honors Winning Students in the Holy Quran Competition

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, held an honoring celebration for the winners of the Holy Quran competition under the auspices of HE Dr. Majid bin Said Al-Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and in the presence of HE Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education for Education, and the Directors-General of the Directorates-General of the Ministry’s General Diwan and the educational governorates as well as the Senior Supervisors of the Islamic Education subject in addition to the honored students, the supervising teachers, and parents. The ceremony took place at the scout troupe theatre.

The ceremony program included the Ministry's speech delivered by Dr. Sana bint Salim Al-Senani, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, in which she said: “This exceptional ceremony comes to honor the winning students in the Holy Quran competition in its (45th) edition, as a culmination for our students and in support for them to continue the path in memorizing the Holy Book of Quran. The role of the Ministry of Education comes in developing the interest of our students in reciting and memorizing The Holy Qur’an on several tracks through this competition that the Ministry holds annually for all the Sultanate’s public and private schools, in addition to the institutes that deal with people with hearing and visual disabilities and those integrated in public schools. This interest is only to instill a love for the Holy Qur’an but also to consolidate morals and values in the hearts of our students in support of the role played by the curricula in the various educational stages in terms of building principles and values.”

After that, the student Al-Haytham bin Hilal Al-Hamhami, from Miss School for Basic Education in North Al-Batinah Governorate Education delivered the students’ speech, in which he said: “I am overwhelmed with happiness as I stand on behalf of my fellow students who were honored today, and this is nothing but an affirmation of the importance of systematic activities, which are an important factor and a tributary of the curriculum, and indispensable to students in refining their talents and providing them with new knowledge to link between the theoretical and the application.”

The ceremony also included a theatrical performance showcasing the stages of the students’ participation in the competition since registration in the competition through the announcement in the school, the diligence in memorization, and the follow-up by the teacher in the school and the parents at home, and then the stage of evaluating the students at the school level and their competing for the first place in the competition then at the governorate level. The performance also shows the interest of the teacher supervising the competition in following up on the student.

At the end of the ceremony, HE Majid bin Said Al-Bahri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, honored the winning students in the competition for memorizing the Holy Qur’an in its five levels, honoring the winning students in the competition for mastery of recitation and good voice, and the winning students in the category of special education for people with hearing and visual disabilities, and honoring the teachers who supervise the students participating in the competition from various educational directorates in
