The Omani Association for School Sports is organizing the Barzman School Run 2023, tomorrow (Friday) at 3:30 pm, in Al Sahwa Gardens, with the participation of (200) students from school in Muscat Governorate, and (200) parents, children, and families. The race is held for a (1.5) kilometer competition for the male category, and (1) kilometer for the female category of students from public, private and international schools in the Governorate of Muscat for students in the third and fourth grades.

The event is fully sponsored by the brand (Barzman) from the Zahib Food Company and supervised and organized by the School Sports Committee at the Muscat Educational Directorate, and the Omani Athletics Association (technical supervision of the race). The event is set to witness the presence of a number of interested parties and the public.

The event aims to instill healthy lifestyles among children and young students participating in the race, spread awareness and a beneficial sports culture among students, promote the concept of sport as a way of life, and take care of and pay attention to talented students in the sport of running, and work to raise their technical and skill levels, and raise the level of physical and health competence and abilities of the participating students. The event also aims at strengthening friendship relations between the various organizing and participating groups, the involvement of parents in the activities organized by the Association and building bridges of cooperation with private sector institutions in order to create a healthy and athletic school community.

A number of institutions contribute to the event, including Muscat Municipality, Ministry of Health, Royal Oman Police, Oman Diabetes Association, Sultan Qaboos University (Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences), and government and private media agencies and institutions.

On the sidelines of the race, some accompanying activities for the participating students and their families will include a children's theater in which fun competitions are held for children, activities in general hygiene, preserving the environment, implementing health awareness campaigns, face painting, walking activity for parents and children not participating in the race, and Children's

characters (mascot) will be present and a corner for the Omani Diabetes Association, and life skills games.

Competitors will receive a medal for the race upon reaching the final line, and there will be special prizes for the contestants. Cups will be awarded to the first three student winners in each race (male and female) in addition to a cash amount provided
