The joint committee for the project of preparing the digital school atlas for the Sultanate of Oman and the world between the Ministry of Education represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development "Department of Curriculum Development for Humanities", the Directorate-General of Information Technology, the Project Management Office, and representatives of the competent authorities from the Ministry of Defense "National Survey Authority", the National Center for Statistics and Information, and Orator and scholar Company, which is executing the project, held its third meeting on Monday morning, in the presence of Dr. Yahya bin Khamis Al-Harthi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, Chairman of the Committee, and Eng. Ruby Zantout, Project Manager of the company, and members of the committee. The meeting took place at the meeting hall at the Office of the Director-General of Curriculum Development in the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The meeting began with Dr. Yahya bin Khamis Al Harthi, welcoming the members of the committee, and touching on the importance of the project because it is among the Ministry's projects in digital transformation, and represents a quantum leap at the level of the Sultanate of Oman and at the regional level to shift from paper-based atlases to interactive digital ones. After that, Eng. Ruby Zentout gave a presentation of the project that included its role in serving the educational curricula, its advantages and challenges, and the scope of work including the estimated time for its completion, its stages, the classes it targets, and the requirements of its first stage.
