The Ministry of Education held the first meeting of the joint committee between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, where HE Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary oof Education, represented the Ministry with HE Dr. Bakhit bin Ahmed Al Mehri, Undersecretary of Higher Education, represented the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. The meeting took place in the office of HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, on Sunday morning.

The meeting of the joint committee is to be held on a regular basis every six months, with the aim of strengthening the existing cooperation between the two ministries in common issues, and coordination between them in matters related to developing mechanisms and systems related to students and employees sent to study. The committee meeting also aim to develop action plans to ensure the flow of work and face the challenges related to enhancing the educational aspect of students in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, meeting academic standards, and harmonizing the strategic plans of the two ministries in the field of developing the educational system, as well as following up the progress of various projects.

During the meeting, aspects of joint cooperation between the two ministries were discussed in the field of training courses for the employees of the two ministries, in order to ensure raising their efficiency in various developmental sectors, by developing specialized, qualitative programs. Educational specializations in private universities and colleges, educational qualification programs, and the rebuilding of the student guidebook from the Unified Admission Center were also discussed, to be in an interactive manner that makes it easier for students to use it, in addition to the electronic linkage between the Unified Admission Center and the Measurement and Evaluation Center, and finding solutions to expedite the equivalence of certificates of the General Education Diploma from outside of the Sultanate of Oman.
