The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, recently implemented a workshop titled: "Building the objectives of supervisory work" with the aim of enabling supervision and improving supervisory practices. The workshop started with the Directorate’s speech delivered by Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision in the Ministry, welcoming the audience, stressing on the importance of the objectives and their role in the planning process for the supervisory work. After that, a number of papers were presented that shed light on what the targets are and their role in the educational systems, how to build them and the mechanisms of activating and applying them at the supervisory level. Some applied models for the objectives were also presented and included practical aspects. The workshop ended with an open discussion with the attendees.

It is worth noting that the workshop reflected the practical importance of the objectives, as it emerged from Oman vision 2040, to clarify the level of performance required for the main performance indicators, and the extent of their effectiveness in the supervisory work in terms of planning and construction, and the actual outcome of the role of educational supervision in refining supervisory skills, and then improving supervisory practices in the educational field.
