The Ministry of Education held a celebration ceremony yesterday (Sunday) morning on the occasion on the 52nd National Day. The celebration was carried out in the Ministry General Diwan, under the auspices of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education in the presences of Their Excellencies the undersecretaries, advisors, directors general of the Ministry’s General Diwan and employees.
The ceremony included several paragraphs embodying the love of the homeland and its sovereign Sultan. The student Saba Bint Al-Fazari, who won the first place in memorizing a thousand verses of poetry, presented a poem, followed by a performance by students of Al-Amal School for the Deaf. The student Azza Al-Harthi from Umm Qais Al-Asadiya School presented a recitation of a poen titled “Heroes banner” followed by poetic operetta presented by Saba Al Fazaria, Sarah Al Fazaria, and Shaima Al Fazaria from Al-Oyoun School in North Sharqiyah. At the end of the ceremony, the students of Al-Sarouj School for Basic Education presented a performance. The celebration featured songs by the scout band, and a performance of Al-Azi's art.
On the sidelines of the Ministry's celebration of the 52nd National Day, HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, honored outstanding students in a number of international competitions in which students of the Sultanate of Oman participated, in the presence of Their Excellencies, Directors General, and teachers supervising the competitions.
The students who won the award for the best innovative research idea in the ALECSO Olympiad, which was held in the Republic of Tunisia, were honored as well as the students who received the prizes for safety and social communication in the First Global competition, which was held in Switzerland. HE also honored the students who won the first three places in the Gulf Hackathon for Artificial Intelligence held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was organized by the Arab Education Bureau. Among the honorees as well were the students who won the first places in the Sheikha Fadia Al-Saad Al-Sabah Award held in Kuwait.
The honored students emphasized the importance of participating in such competitions to benefit from the scientific material provided, and exchange experiences among the participants. They pointed out that these participations helped refining their personalities and developing their skills such as: the skill of speaking English, and the skill of employing steam to solve global problems, and using it in daily life, and they described their feeling of carrying the flag of Oman fluttering at the forefront, and the ability of the Omani people to be creative with their ideas to produce technical and scientific works that dazzled the world teams and the arbitration committees.
