The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision and the Measurement and Evaluation Center held a meeting for the departments of educational supervision at directorates of education. The meeting was held yesterday morning under the patronage of HE Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education. The two days meeting is taking place at the Holiday Inn Muscat.

The meeting kicked off with the speech of HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education, in which he said: “This meeting comes from the participatory process between the directorates of the Ministry's General Diwan and the educational directorates in the governorates to deepen the communication between the departments of the educational supervision and evaluation in the educational directorates and the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision and stand on educational developments in the development of curricula, evaluation, educational supervision and measurement. This meeting also seeks the formation of professional education societies between the directors of the educational supervision departments and their assistants in the ministry, the exchange of views and proposals that would develop educational work, and the discussion of a number of issues related to planning, curricula, evaluation, training and private schools.”

The first day of the meeting included the presentation of six papers, the first one came titled “Mechanism for Preserving Learning Time during Exams in Classes 5 – 11” presented by Dr. Khadija Al Balushi followed by Muhammad Al-Wahibi who presented the Developments of the School Curricula. Fathia Al-Mawali, Rahma Al-Kharousi and Issa Al-Rashdi presented the third paper on “Educational Evaluation Developments” followed by Iman Al-Rajihi presenting the fourth paper titled “Re-Engineering Electronic Procedures.” The fifth paper discussed “Mechanisms for calculating school formations and supervision grades jobs and School Administration” presented by Badr Al-Harassi. Nabil Al-Khanbashi presented the last paper for the first day, entitled "Developments in Private Schools".

The second day of the meeting includes the presentation of (6) papers discussing the most important topics of educational supervision, including: developments in educational supervision (the electronic preparation platform), computerization of the nomination process for supervisory positions, teachers’ reluctance to run for the position of a senior teacher, guide to organizational procedures for specialized supervisory visits,

the supervisory teams’ methodology, training and evaluation mechanisms for delegates to occupy supervisory positions and school administration positions.
