Under the patronage of HE Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a ceremony was held for the Academic Excellence Award for General Education Students in the Member States of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, in its 15th session in Bahrain, with the support of Almarai Company. A number of 84 outstanding students were honored in light of the last academic year’s results in the member states, with 12 students from each country. The 12 participating students from the Sultanate represented the stages of general education and basic education as well as the stage of post-basic education in this celebration.
The ceremony included a speech by HE the Minister of Education in Bahrain, and another speech by the Director-General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, and a number of presentations, and concluded by honoring the award winners.
Raya bint Amer Al-Jabri, Assistant Director of the Department of Educational Activities, and the supervisor of the participating students, said: “The Academic Excellence Award of the Arab Education Bureau for students of general education in its fifteenth session held in Bahrain, focuses on students who demonstrate high abilities in academic achievement in various subjects in order to highlight that these abilities are refined and honored to enhance continuous excellence. The Sultanate hosted the award in the fifth session in 2011, as well as the eleventh session in 2017. I would like to thank all the outstanding students, their parents, and heads of educational activities departments in the governorates for their efforts.”
The award aims to celebrate outstanding students, enhance their sense of the importance of science, show their country's interest in them, encourage them to continue the path of excellence, and motivate the rest of the students to follow their example.
