The Omani School Sports Association signed a partnership and cooperation agreement with the Oman Telecommunications Company - OmanTel, where HE Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and chairman of the Association signed the agreement with Sheikh Talal bin Saeed Al-Maamari CEO of Oman Telecommunications Company.

This agreement will contribute to improving and activating the various activities and programs of the Association during the current academic year 2022/2023, redoubling efforts in supporting the school sports scene, and providing an exceptional experience for school students in the Sultanate of Oman. This partnership will also enhance raising the standards of sports sponsorship experiences for the Association to achieve the aspirations of students and the school community.

The two parties seek, through this important national partnership, to contribute to the preparation of a healthy generation that participates in the development of its society through the implementation of programs of a physical health nature. The agreement also aims towards refining students’ talents and skills and opening areas of cooperation with clubs and federations to strengthen national teams. This partnership will have a major role as well in promoting the concept of sport as a way of life and contributing to raising the quality of life for the community.

On this partnership, HE Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, said: “This partnership with the OmanTel is a necessary requirement to implement the agenda of the Omani School Sports Association as it will support activities carried out by the Association in relation to promoting school sports. The activities of the Omani School Sports Association are diverse and numerous, and in need of such support, and OmanTel is one of the main supporters, and I call on the rest of the institutions to contribute to the promotion of school sports.”

Sheikh Talal bin Said Al-Maamari, CEO of OmanTel emphasized the importance of this partnership with the Ministry of Education as it

comes as a part of a group of activities supported by OmanTel, and there is no doubt that the education sector is one of the most important capabilities of the company’s social responsibility, and the school sports sector is a supportive sector for youth, and Omani sports in general.

The Oman School Sports Association is responsible for school sports activities in the schools of the Sultanate of Oman and seeks to achieve sustainable and real partnerships with private sector institutions, partners, and supporters. The fact that OmanTel is one of the supporters in creating sustainable communities in the Sultanate of Oman, and has a prominent, pioneering and effective role in community investment by supporting educational, sports and youth initiatives, the Omani School Sports Association and OmanTel aspire to establish a national partnership aimed at advancing and promoting school sports in accordance with the Association’s strategy (2022-2027), which among its pillars is to create an advanced system for communication and sports marketing to ensure achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
