The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation agreement with Al-Jisr Foundation for Charitable Activities to implement a program to build a guide for enriching activities for gifted students. This agreement comes in line with the Ministry’s belief in the right of gifted students to comprehensive care, and an educational environment appropriate for their abilities and skills.
HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education, signed the agreement with Mira Khalid Al Busidi, Executive Director of Al Jisr Foundation for Charitable Activities, in the presence of Dr. Fathiya Al-Sadia, Director General of the Directorate General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, at the Ministry’s main office. After signing the agreement, HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary for Education, said: “The signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the ministry’s attention to the talented students, and Al Jisr Foundation’s keenness to support this project. This agreement is concerned with providing enrichment activities for talented students who should be attended to with great care and special attention to their ability to advance society in various cultural, sports and economic fields. The Ministry seeks to support this group by establishing a special department for the caring of talented students. It also seeks to provide these students with activities to help them refine their talents and enrich them with knowledge content to enhance their mental abilities, energies, and skills. The ministry also aims to enhance their productive thinking based on investigation and exploration in order to contribute to solving problems that face them and their society.”
Dina Al Khalili, the Executive Director of Al Jisr Foundation for Charitable Works, stated: “The Omani society is at the core of our work, and through this partnership the foundation invests in thousands of teachers whose work affects the lives of talented students directly through their ability to uncover the talented and take care of them in a way that ensures students reach their goals. The foundation aspires for this project to be a model for partnership and integration of roles between the government and civil society, embodying the vision of Oman 2040 under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.”
Khamis bin Suwaid Al-Shukaily, a talented-care specialist, said: “Modern educational systems seek to provide the appropriate educational environment for creative and talented people, as they are the ones who accelerate the pace of growth in various scientific, cultural, literary and artistic fields. This agreement is laying the foundation stone for the care of this group because it is sustainable and enhances the capabilities of teachers in general in preparing the enrichment activities for this group of students in a way that guarantees them the full right to appropriate qualification, integrated care, and unparalleled attention to overcome challenges and difficulties they face in order to refine their talents and abilities.”
