The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed a cooperation agreement with Microsoft on digital transformation to keep up with the new approach at education process (Hybrid).The agreement signed by H.E.Majid Al Bahri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administration and finance Affairs and Shaikh, Saif Al Hosni, the Director General of Microsoft Company (Oman Bahrain) in the Ministry's main cabinet.
After the signing, H.E.Majid Al Bahri pointed out that the agreement was a result of the continuous cooperation between the Ministry and Microsoft in order to train a number of teachers in the Sultanate and to enhance their technological skills and capabilities to support the educational aspect. He also clarified that the agreement included four axis such as, the public policy and leadership axis, which focuses on the leadership in the Ministry, modern teaching axis that has to do with school environment. The smart environment axis, which will meet the needs of tools and competitions that contribute in prompting the digital transformation, and the axis of detailed technology outline.
On the other hand, Shaikh Saif Al Hosni, said that Microsoft proud to support the innovations to raise the foundations of education process and create comprehensive experiences in the Sultante. He also added that Microsoft would continue supporting Oman 2040 Vision and the agreement would last to five years.
It is also to be mentioning that the axis of agreement will include a number of events and training programs of digital transformation. Moreover, the company will present promotional event of digital transformation in the education for directorates mangers including the use equipment's in classrooms, teaching scenarios , establish a team in Microsoft Team and a workshop for the Directors of the Ministry's Undersecretaries Offices and an executive meeting will be held between Microsoft's global education leadership team and the Ministry's leadership team. In addition, the company will present various worships of the content and experimental workshop in Imagine Academy Program and a workshop in managing the communications and information technology curriculum. The Ministry also will organize an annual event (Digi Girlz) in the Sultanate and will apply Hacking STEM lessons in (12) schools during STEM week. The Ministry of Education will nominate (12) schools to participate in the outstanding schools community outline with Microsoft and the company will provide the Ministry with continuous direct evaluation about the digital transformation performance level of schools. However, Microsoft will provide with guidelines to have a development and training platform managed by the E Education Department in the Ministry of Education.
