MoE Prepares for STEM Week in All Educational Directorates

The main committee of Oman Science Festival and the National Week for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) held a meeting last Wednesday headed by Dr. Saif bin Saeed Al-Ma’amari, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development and Chairman of the Main Committee in the presence of committee members.

During the meeting, the latest preparations for the beginning of the National Week for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) were discussed. MoE organizes the week during the period from 8 to 12 March in all educational directorates in the governorates of the Sultanate.

The National Science Week 2019/2020 will target the field of "our sustainable environment" as a slogan for the second edition of this week, which comes in line with the fact that 2020 is the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH) 2020, which was announced by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2018.

The National Science Week (STEM) is a national scientific initiative based on simplifying science and increasing awareness of technology and innovation, and it is a platform to motivate and support teachers, students and those interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and public to implement a set of events and activities in all science’s fields.
