UNESCO Delegation Visits Al Batinah North Schools
National Committee for Education, Culture and Science paid an official visit to UNESCO Associated Schools, Hawaa bint Yazeed Basic Education School and Sohar Boys School in Sohar. The delegation included Yonus Al Namani, the Section Head of Culture Section at the committee, Bader Al Jabri, the Section Head of Youth Program at the Department of UNESCO Associated Schools. Moreover, the visit aimed to follow and evaluate the important projects and programs that implanted by schools such as twinning project, integrated school approach for weather change, UNESCO Associated Schools of ( Our Heritage is the Future) initiative , the activation of partnership with teachers, students, parents, sectors and government and private institutions.
It is also to be noted that the initiative (Our Heritage is our future) idea considered as a part of the activation of sustainable development that related to cultural heritage. In addition, UNESCO seeks to consolidate the culture in development policies to achieve comprehensive development. It also aims to promote knowledge, skills and values that based on heritage and culture.
