Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education announced the winners of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Cup for Scouting and Guidance Excellence for the academic year 2018-2019 .The Directorate-General of Education in South Al Batinah Governorate came in first place and was crowned with His Majesty’s Cup. The Directorate-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate came in the second place and North Al Batinah finished third.
Dr Madiha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education gave a statement in which she extended her thanks and gratitude for His Majesty for the attention he accorded to scouting and guidance in the Sultanate and for allocating His Majesty’s Cup to the governorates which display excellence in scouting and guidance. She also clarified the achieved aims of scouting movement in promotion values of good citizenship and encouragement of the talents students to serve their societies where they give them good opportunities to gain advanced positions in the several regional and international competitions. Moreover, Dr.Yaqoob Al Nidaabi, the Director General of Scouting and Guiding emphasized that the competition of HM cup for scouting and guidance excellence contributed to renew the activities and programs to keep up the world updates and develop the scouting and guidance curricula. He also added that the scouting movement gained various honoring achievements such as achieving GSAT in applying the comprehensive quality standards from World Scouting Organization as the first achievement in Gulf and the second in Arab World, and gain the certificate of abilities building from World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (CAT).
