Directorate General of Education in Al Dhaklyiah represented Islamic Studies Section organized the initial qualifiers of Holy Quran Memorization Competition in Training and Professional Development Center in Nizwa. The competition aims to encourage students to memorize, recite the holy Quran and develop a spirit of competition between students. Six hundred students participated this year. In this context, Dr. Musa bin Muhammad Al Suleimani, Head of Islamic Studies Section, mentioned that the participants go through several stages starting from school level and ends to the Sultanate level where a special ceremony is held to honor them. Al Suleimani mentioned also that all students could participate in the competition at the school level as a first stage, choose the levels that suit them from the six levels of the competition and then each the school has the right to participate and compete at the governorate level.
