The science project of Umiyah bint Qais Basic Education School (5-9) garden qualified for the Sultan Qaboos Award of Sustainable Development in School Environment. The award adopted by the Ministry of Education and the project qualified in environmental and hygiene axis at the award in its first round for the academic year 2019/2020 in order  to compete at the Sultanate level. Moreover, Umiyah garden included a number of units such as biological diversity unit, aquaculture unit, Umiyah sun unit and reading corner. Also, the garden founded in various stages and supported by companies, institutions and individuals.
     It is also to be mentioning that many institutions in the Willayat of Liwa paid filed visits to the school such companies, schools of the Willaiyat of Liwa and Omani Women Association to view the project, its aims, activation techniques, its benefit to local and school society and the future vision of project.
