,Dear Teachers, Educational Faculty members, Students, and Parents

It is a pleasure to extend our sincere congratulations and welcome you to the new academic year, praying that it will be a successful year responsive to the aspirations of our giving land which we sincerely work together for its progress and prosperity. Also we welcome teachers who recently joined educational faculty, and teachers of sister countries who share performing education mission, wishing them all the success.

Education is of the top priorities of Oman government since renaissance for it considersan essential basis to ensure better future and establish a responsible generation able to build their country. Also the Ministry is acting in line with HM Sultan Qaboos royal directives -may God protect him - and continue developing and spreading education, thus there was more than 1700 teachers' appointments this year, some of them of the 1^st batch of Education Qualification Program within national level, and open about 55 school buildings in different governorates in the Sultanate. Moreover, Ministry of Education continue developing education processes and adopt a series of global episodes in sciences and math subjects to provide students the opportunities to study within international levels, and hope that this year witnesses the application of students' affairs board in the government schools with its new formula.         

Dear Educational Faculty Members,

“The Educational Indicators System” was launched last academic year and considered a start for new phase that will contribute in enabling schools’ administrations to evaluate schools’ performance based on clear basis and improve the standard of students’ achievement .The Ministry will intensify its effort in this aspect during the next phase through series of procedures to ensure the highest quality level in the input data in the educational portal thus contributing to the employment database and take decisions based on cumulative evidences to develop the educational system in the Sultanate. In this context, the Ministry has prepared a training program will implement during the current academic year to promote the educational system capability to employ the educational indicators especially school administrations that we depend on to improve the school work system.

We are proud of the significant role you play in serving our country, perform your educational mission and your dedication to raise up a generation loyal to their country and anxious to learn and innovate.  We also praise the innovations and educational projects undertaken by you in order to develop students’ achievements levels as shown in the educational indicators of the last academic year. 

In this regard, the Ministry sets a new standard to honor initiatives owner from the current year according to objective and clear basis in order to ensure transparency in assessment. We would also like to thank the Board of Education for its effort in certify the Educational Proficiency Award, which is currently being developed its operational frameworks; to be a qualitative addition to motivate teachers.

,Dear Students

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos -may God protect him- gives youth great attention through opening public and private higher educational institutions and creating external scholarships' opportunities. The best proof of that is your school classmates of General Education Diploma graduates who got the opportunity to complete their study in and outside the Sultanate. Also, the scholarships dedicated to prepare teachers in some education's majors outside the Sultanate to cope with the Ministry's future needs. Moreover, we are proud of our outstanding students who achieve high grades at regional and international level, and be an example for ethical commitment and good ambassadors of their country in dealing with other cultures.

,Dear Parent and Educational Faculty Members 

We assert the effective role of parent board in making liaison between home and school. We invite you also to put more efforts in guiding your children to abide by the actual learning time during academic semesters and show virtuous values since our country entrusts us the responsibility to raise our children and provide them a good education.    

Finally, we pray to God to crown our efforts with success to serve our dear homeland under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos - may God protect him, and we wish you a successful academic year2016/2017.
